Therapy for Expats and Digital Nomads in Europe and Beyond

Living abroad can be both enriching and destabilizing. While life may be full of new experiences, it can also be difficult to feel grounded in a foreign country.

Many expats and digital nomads find themselves navigating not only life abroad, but also anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, or emotional patterns that do not disappear with relocation.

I’m an English-speaking psychologist based in Europe, working with expats and globally mobile adults navigating trauma, grief, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions.

My work focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, regulate overwhelming emotions, and build a greater sense of stability, self-trust, and connection — wherever they are in the world.

Alongside my clinical work, I also collaborate with international organizations and global teams, delivering psychology-informed workshops in high-demand environments, including with the Red Cross.
Let's Connect
Why I Do This Work

Before becoming a psychologist, I was living in Canada and working in the corporate world. From the outside, my life looked stable and successful, but internally I felt increasingly disconnected from myself and the life I was building.

In 2017, I moved to Europe and realised I wanted a life rooted more deeply in meaning, connection, and emotional honesty. This eventually led me to retrain as a psychologist and begin building a different kind of life and career.

In 2021, my partner Alex died suddenly and unexpectedly while I was holding his hand. His death fundamentally changed my understanding of trauma, grief, and what it means to rebuild after profound loss.Through this experience, my work became more focused on trauma, grief, emotional regulation, and nervous system healing. The approaches I use in therapy are not only clinically grounded — they are approaches I came to understand deeply through lived experience.

I do not believe healing means “moving on” or erasing what happened. I believe it means learning how to live alongside pain with greater stability, self-compassion, resilience, and connection.

Living across countries has also given me firsthand insight into the emotional complexity of life abroad — including identity shifts, uncertainty, loneliness, belonging, and the pressure to constantly adapt.

Today, my work focuses on helping expats and globally mobile adults better understand themselves, regulate overwhelming emotions, and create a stronger sense of stability and self-trust — wherever they are in the world.

Therapy for Expats & Digital Nomads

Living abroad can be exciting, but it can also feel emotionally destabilising. Many expats and digital nomads are navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, trauma, loneliness, or a persistent sense of instability beneath an otherwise successful life.

I’m an English-speaking psychologist based in Europe, working with expats and globally mobile clients navigating life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and nervous system dysregulation.

My approach is trauma-informed, practical, and grounded in evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, DBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Therapy with me focuses on helping you:
• Understand overwhelming emotional patterns
• Regulate your nervous system and build stability
• Process trauma, grief, and major life transitions
• Reconnect with yourself with more clarity and self-trust

This work is especially relevant for people who feel “in between” — between countries, identities, relationships, or phases of life.

My Approach

favorite

Empathetic Environment

A space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or hold it all together.

We slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and work with it directly — so you can move forward with more clarity and confidence.
self_improvement

Flexibility

Life abroad doesn’t follow a straight line, and neither does therapy.

Our work adapts to where you are — whether you need structure, support, or practical tools to navigate anxiety, trauma, and ongoing change.

Focus on Nervous System Care

We don’t just talk about what’s happening — we work with the system underneath it.

You’ll learn how to regulate your nervous system in ways that are simple, sustainable, and actually usable in real life — so overwhelm decreases and stability increases.

Sessions are 100 EUR for 50 minutes.

I also offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can discuss whether the work feels like a good fit before getting started.

keyboard_arrow_down

I offer a limited number of reduced-rate sessions for clients experiencing financial constraints.

If cost is a barrier, you’re welcome to mention this when reaching out and we can discuss current availability.

What is your cancellation policy?
keyboard_arrow_down

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee, as session times are reserved specifically for you.

Thank you for understanding and respecting the consistency this helps maintain within the practice.

Is there anything outside of your scope?
keyboard_arrow_down
Yes. Part of ethical care is being clear about what I do, and do not, provide.

I work with adults (18+) experiencing concerns such as anxiety, trauma, grief, emotional overwhelm, burnout, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions, including the emotional impact of expat and digital nomad life.

Some situations require a higher level of support or more specialised care than I offer in private practice. This includes:
• Active suicidal or homicidal thoughts, with a current plan or intent
• Ongoing self-harm behaviours (e.g., cutting, burning)
• Significant substance use or addiction requiring medical or inpatient support
• Psychotic symptoms (such as hallucinations or delusions)
• Psychological or diagnostic testing needs. Note: I am partnered with Insight Medical in Budapest. This clinic offers thorough psychiatric evaluation online.
• Full DBT programs requiring group skills training or 24/7 phone coaching

I integrate DBT principles into my work, but I do not provide a full DBT program.

If a different level of care is needed, I’ll help guide you toward appropriate support or referral options.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
keyboard_arrow_down
My practice is fully online, and sessions take place via secure Zoom video calls.

Working online allows me to support expats, digital nomads, and internationally mobile clients wherever they’re based, while offering flexibility and continuity across time zones and travel.

Online therapy is well-supported by research and can be highly effective for concerns such as anxiety, trauma, grief, burnout, and life transitions.
Is your practice LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive of diverse identities?
keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to being a respectful, inclusive space for people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and relationship structures.

I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are — without judgement, assumptions, or the pressure to explain or defend your identity.

Do you offer mental health workshops for international companies or remote teams?
keyboard_arrow_down
Yes — I work with organisations, offering workshops designed for expats, remote teams, and globally mobile professionals.
